Great Leviathans
A series of illustrations brought to life through the hypothetical animated series, Great Leviathans. The design showcases a fiction with the subject of large sea monsters. Great Leviathans’ mature, action-oriented tone appeals to teens and younger adults, who enjoy animated entertainment and adventurous storylines.
Process
Before the monsters were vectorized and rendered out, they were drawn with clean lineart in Procreate.

When the time came to design a poster for Great Leviathans, the squid ended up having the most appeal. The only problem was that the monster’s size was hard to tell just by looking at it alone. Adding a scuba diver was great for this. It also had the bonus of being a source of light for the piece as a whole.
